The final mile matters

You’ve already done the hardest part. Don’t let the final production undermine the story.

You wrote the manuscript. Your illustrations are finished. You can already imagine the completed book in a reader’s hands.

But it’s still sitting in separate files, and every week of delay makes it harder to publish during the Christmas buying season.

Trying to finish it through templates, unfamiliar print specifications or cheap AI-led production can make original work feel generic. Your book deserves a final design that reflects the care already invested in it.

Why finish now

One finished book. Four deeply personal reasons to make it real.

01

Capture seasonal sales

Put your book in a position to benefit from Black Friday and Christmas demand instead of delaying the release into another year.

02

Finish what you promised

Move from “nearly published” to a finished book you can share confidently, and end the year as a published author.

03

Create a lasting gift

Turn a story written for a child, relative or community into something tangible that can be held and treasured.

04

Protect original work

Your work is shaped by a book specialist who has designed more than 80 books over 10 years. Every story is treated as its own world, so the result feels carefully considered, recognisably yours and worthy of the work behind it.

Why Us

Your story deserves experienced, human-led design.

Your children’s book represents months, sometimes years, of imagination, commitment and work. It deserves someone who understands both the emotional importance of the project and the practical demands of publishing.

I’m Krysta, the publication designer behind xorx creative. My work combines thoughtful typography, visual storytelling and production knowledge to turn authors’ manuscripts and illustrations into polished books.

Fully funded on Kickstarterin 24 hours
This Small King reached readers quickly.

The finished title was stocked by Booktopia, launched at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, and a copy was sent to the desk of the Prime Minister of New Zealand.

For this project, xorx creative shaped the cover typography, interior layout and final production files. The Prime Minister reference demonstrates reach, not endorsement.

Not one house style. A considered design for each story.

Choose your target

Two seasonal tracks. One honest boundary.

8 places

Black Friday track

For authors targeting online availability by 27 November.

  • Rolling production and handover
  • Latest intended file handover: 20 November
  • Immediate author upload required

7 additional places

Christmas track

For authors targeting Christmas publication and, where timing permits, physical copies.

  • Rolling production and handover

The honest boundary: xorx creative controls design and file handover. Publishing platforms, printers and couriers control review, manufacturing and delivery. Seasonal availability is a target subject to client action and third-party processing.

A strong fit if…

Your book is ready for production.

  • You’re ready to finally call yourself a published author.
  • You want to keep the promise you made to yourself, your family, or the child behind the story.
  • You want a book you will feel proud to share, sell, or wrap as a gift.
  • Your manuscript is final and proofread.
  • All interior and cover illustrations are final and high-resolution.
  • The complete interior is 32 pages or fewer.
  • You can return consolidated feedback within 24 hours.
  • You’re ready to invest €1,200 in completing the book.

Not the right sprint if…

Your creative materials are still changing.

  • You are still enjoying the creative exploration and do not feel ready to call the story finished.
  • You want a quick template treatment rather than a book shaped around the character of your work.
  • You are not ready to make the timely decisions and give the focused feedback a seasonal deadline requires.
  • You need an illustrator or new cover artwork.
  • The manuscript still needs editing or proofreading.
  • You need multiple formats or languages in the base package.
  • You can’t meet the asset or approval deadlines.
  • You need a guaranteed external publishing or shipping date.

Questions, answered clearly

Before you apply.

Do you create the illustrations?

No. This seasonal sprint does not include custom illustration. Your manuscript, interior illustrations and cover artwork need to be final before we begin. If you need illustration as well as book design, we can discuss a future full-service project instead.

Can you guarantee the book will be live by Black Friday?

I will work to the file-delivery date we agree together and do everything within my control to keep the project on schedule. I cannot guarantee the platform’s go-live date because its review and processing times are outside my control. You will need to upload the files promptly and respond quickly to any platform requests.

Can you guarantee physical copies by Christmas?

I will work to the agreed file-delivery date and tell you when the files need to be uploaded and ordered. Platform approval, printing, production and courier delivery are handled by third parties, so the arrival date of physical copies cannot be guaranteed.

What happens if I send materials or feedback late?

Please tell me as soon as you know something will be late. Late materials or feedback may move the delivery date and put your seasonal target at risk. We will confirm the key dates before work starts and agree any revised timeline clearly.

Is AI used to create my book?

No. Generative AI is not used anywhere in the design of your book. I design the typography, pacing, layouts and cover myself using professional publication-design tools, with close attention to your original writing and illustrations.

Production places are open

Your story is already written. Let’s make this the year it becomes a book.

Tell me about your manuscript, illustrations and intended deadline. I’ll review the materials before offering a production place.
